Mark Beasley is an experienced marketing consultant, who now specialises in the mature (50+) market. As a director of specialist consultancy, rhc advantage, he has worked with many brands and businesses to help improve their alignment with older consumers. He is also co-founder and Chairman of the Mature Marketing Association.
Mark's interest in the 'ageing consumer' also extends to speaking at conferences and writing (for example, the Mature Marketing Report and the 2016 World Advertising Research Centre Best Practice Guide for Marketing to 50-plus consumers).
Starting his career as a corporate management trainee, Mark soon moved to a marketing agency, enjoying 25 years in various marketing agency roles, including copywriter, account director, planning director and managing director. In 1987, he co-founded what was to become one of the UK’s leading marketing communications agencies, subsequently acquired by Sir Martin Sorrell’s WPP group.
Mark worked in a planning role for WPP, leaving in 2003 to combine consultancy assignments in the UK and overseas with a ‘portfolio’ of roles, including business ventures, mentoring and teaching at a Business School.
He formed rhc advantage in 2010, in the belief that marketing as both discipline and business function should be more closely aligned with the ageing population in Europe and elsewhere.
His client experience has extended across a wide range of corporates in many different sectors: from food & drink to financial, IT, leisure, mail order and retail. He has also worked on business start-ups and new product launches. This has involved planning, creating and managing a wide range of marketing activities, campaigns, plans and projects: from advertising, brand, direct, promotion and marketing communications, to consultancy, planning and research.
Mark has an MBA and is a social science graduate. He was admitted to the Marketing Society in 1989 and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 2015.
He is an experienced public speaker to audiences large and small, aiming to inform and entertain at all times. He has spoken about mature marketing at conferences around the UK and Europe, as well as on radio and videocasts. See speaker profile.
